A Small Southwestern Modern Studio in Downtown Oklahoma City
"I've been into interior design for awhile and living in a studio has been a fun challenge," writes Lyndsey, who shares this small studio apartment with her rescue dog Tux. "A lot of people couldn't handle living in one large room, but Tux and I seem to make it work! Leaving out room dividers makes the space more open and bright but I have to be mindful about anything I bring in the space. If it isn't useful or beautiful, its got to go!"
Name: Lyndsey and Tux the Papillon
Location: Downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Size: 580 square feet
Years lived in: 2 years, renting
If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? I would be able to open my large windows! (and Tux hair wouldn't stick to everything, does that count?)
What is your favorite room and why? I love my "bedroom." I've attempted to make this space into my relaxing oasis. It is semi secluded from the rest of the apartment. The small space to the right of the bed also enables me to do my yoga, read and meditate.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Especially true for small spaces — If it's not useful or beautiful, get rid of it. I think editing your space often is important. I can't tell you how often I am moving décor to another space or moving a piece two inches over. Don't worry about trends, do what makes you happy!
Thanks, Lyndsey!
