The Brand Behind the Ridiculously Stylish Plunger I Love Created an Adorable New Mop That Actually Makes Me Look Forward to Cleaning
With two dogs at home, it feels like I’m always cleaning my floor. There are food messes, fur messes, treat messes, and as one of the pups is almost-but-not-quite housetrained, the occasional accident. While I do have a spin mop and steam mop tucked neatly away whenever I need them, nothing beats the convenience of a mop that’s ready to use in seconds. It also wouldn’t hurt if it looked a little nicer than my average cleaning supplies. I don’t have a ton of storage space, so the more I can leave out in the open without shame, the better. One of my favorite places to shop for unconventionally stylish cleaning goods in recent years has been Staff. It’s where I got my “pretty plunger” and toilet brush that’s just as aesthetically pleasing. Now, Staff has teamed up with Clorox Scentiva to create The Mop. I’m happy to report that it looks just as nice as it is effective, and it’s become my go-to for quick floor cleanups.
When The Mop arrives, it’s safely packed into a slim box and must be assembled upon delivery. Fortunately, it’s not difficult to put together at all. The mop handle is split into three acrylic cylinders, each in a color that represents the Clorox scents: Pink is for Tahitian Grapefruit Splash, purple is for Tuscan Lavender & Jasmine, and blue is Pacific Breeze & Coconut. Staff’s signature brass rings separate each color and there’s a bowler hat at the top for a little razzle-dazzle — but it also protects the acrylic in case the mop falls over. Once everything is attached to the base, it’s ready to use! The Mop also comes with six single-packs of Clorox Scentiva Disinfecting Wet Mopping Cloths, so I was able to start cleaning right away, which was great because my dining area and bathroom were in desperate need of attention.
While The Mop is designed to be paired with Clorox Scentiva Disinfecting Wet Mopping Cloths, it’s also compatible with similar wet mop cloths, which is a HUGE plus in my book. I actually stopped using these types of mops a while ago because I wasn’t a fan of how the cloths had to be loaded into them. Pressing the cloth by hand down into the rubber holes on the base was kind of pain; however, The Mop has flap tabs that take care of the job for you, and you don’t even need to bend down to secure them. Once you have a mopping cloth on the floor, simply place the mop onto it, flip the edges of the cloth over the base (with the tabs open), and then press each one down with your hand or foot until it snaps shut. At that point, the mopping cloth is secure and cleaning can commence! My floors were super dirty, as embarrassing as it is to admit, but I was still able to use one cloth for the dining room and another for the bathroom. Not only did the mop make my floors sparkle, the mopping cloths left behind a light and pleasant scent that truly refreshed the room, and I had it all done in minutes.
I am continuously impressed with Staff’s line of home goods and cleaning supplies, and it’s even better when my excitement over their new offerings is validated in the form of effective results. If you’re looking for cleaning tools that go beyond the norm, Staff really is a fantastic place to start. The Mop is yet another win in my book!
