The Victorian Mansion from “Stepmom” Is for Sale, and We’re Obsessed with the Wraparound Porch
Whenever a house from a beloved movie or TV show hits the market (hey, “Big Little Lies” beach house), the internet goes wild. Even if the house is way out of your price range, it’s exciting to imagine a world where you could own an iconic piece of entertainment history. And, at the very least, it’s fun to look at the pictures and recall where your favorite scenes were filmed. Now, the Victorian mansion from the 1998 Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon movie “Stepmom” is for sale, and we can’t get enough.
The house, which is called Glenholme, is listed for $3.75 million. It’s located in Nyack, New York, just about an hour north of Manhattan. The interior shots of “Stepmom” were filmed on a set, but in these pictures from Realtor.com, you’ll recognize the exterior—particularly the three-sided wraparound porch—from the movie.
The property has undergone extensive renovations since its “Stepmom” days. And as Architectural Digest notes, the home was also used as a bed and breakfast in the 2010 Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston film “Bounty Hunter.”
The house boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms, an intimate parlor, a study, a grand staircase, and so much more. There’s even a secret passageway that leads to a gourmet chef’s eat-in kitchen.
It gets a ton of natural light, and you really can’t beat that view of the Hudson.
If you don’t have $3.75 million to spend on a new home, you can always honor Julia Roberts by staying in the “Steel Magnolias” house, which is now a bed and breakfast in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
