I have just come to accept that I am one of those people who has too much stuff. It’s been a lifelong problem, and as I’ve downsized my apartment, it’s only become more chronic. I swear I donate garbage bags full of clothes and bedding, but my closet is still overflowing. Last year, I decided to upgrade my decade-old Ziploc storage bags for something a little more stylish. (Plus, the Ziploc bags were too tall for my boyfriend’s low bed frame).

Last March, I went on a little Amazon deep dive to find under-bed bins that were shorter than 8 inches and more stylish than my current options. I came across the StorageWorks Underbed Storage Bins, which come in a chic white option with brown handles and zippers and are only 5 inches tall. This color combination meshes well with the wooden IKEA bed frame we have. I also liked that the box has multiple handles, so it’s easy to grab and pull out, and I still stand by that opinion more than 1.5 years later.

What Are the StorageWorks Underbed Storage Boxes?

These fabric bins are 23.5×12.5×5 inches and feature thick transparent tops. They have sturdy faux leather handles that add a bit of sophistication to the under-bed bins. There are also label holders, so you can easily identify what you’ve stored without having to pull it out.

Since these bins have 1,454 five-star reviews on Amazon and a 4.7-star average rating, I felt pretty confident that they would be durable and good quality. “We live in a small space, and with having a baby I ran out of room in his dresser for his bigger sizes,” an Amazon reviewer wrote. “I bought these in hope that I can store away his bigger clothes and bring them out as he grows. They worked perfectly! Durable but has some stretch so you can really pack the clothes in. It also fit under the bed, which saves us so much space.”

Why I Love the StorageWorks Underbed Storage Boxes

I ordered the two-pack in size medium, which is a steal at only $31. I set up the bins within seconds — you just need to put the reinforced bottom piece in to get them to hold their shape. As a shopping editor for AT, I have way too much bedding, so I stuffed a few sheets sets and a winter blanket in one of the bins. I tend to overpack every organizer I come in contact with, just based on the fact that I live in an apartment with not a lot of storage space, and these bins held up despite me overfilling them. I used the other one for boots and high heels that I don’t normally wear. They had been previously living (unhappily, I imagine) at the bottom of my closet where they were getting trampled by other shoes and suitcases.

I’ve had these bins since March 2023, and I love the way that they look — and I also love that despite their affordability, they don’t feel cheap. They’re allowing me to finally use the under-bed space in a productive way. I freed up some much-needed space in my closet and our under-bed area does not look like a nightmare anymore. They’re absolutely worth it for a long-lasting under-bed storage solution.
