Michaela Grut comes from a creative family—there have been artists in several generations of her history. So it comes as no surprise that she’s found herself in a career that stretches her artistic muscles.
She owns her own home styling company as well as does interior design, but she’s also done photography and project management for famed couch cover company Bemz (whose CEO’s home we’ve toured before!) The home in Stockholm she shares with her family is personalized from top to bottom and shows off her interior passions.
“I love that the house offers a lot of space, and that made it possible for me to have my own art studio. And I also love that it is both very functional with a good floor plan, but also has a lot of charming details like paneled ceilings and paned windows with deep marble windowsills.”
Apartment Therapy Survey:
My Style: Eclectic vintage.
Inspiration: Vintage, fashion, art.
Favorite Element: I have to say my extremely old kitchen table. I love it so much, because it’s beautiful and is probably the oldest thing with the most history that I own!
Biggest Challenge: A long, narrow corridor on the second floor. I try to add lots of good lighting, paintings, and photos all over the walls.
Proudest DIY: Well, I would have to say all the paintings I created for my house.
Biggest Indulgence: To create my art studio! A dream come true!
Best Advice: Follow your gut feeling and have fun.
