Tabitha Brown Is Hosting the First Vegan Competition Cooking Show
Across the hundreds of cooking competition shows on television, there’s a shortage of shows that cater to vegan and vegetarian audiences. TikTok’s favorite mother, Tabitha Brown, is here to change that, and you can completely make it your business.
In collaboration with Food Network, Brown will be hosting “It’s CompliPlated”, which premieres on August 11, 2022, and will be available to stream on discovery+. Jane Latman, the President of Home and Food Content and Streaming at Warner Bros., said the show will reflect “what it’s actually like to make a meal the whole family will love — it’s not easy to make one dish for everyone and this series makes it fun.”
For those watching at home, you can expect to see four chefs competing in multiple cooking challenges to please a different round of picky eaters per episode, plus judges like Maneet Chauhan, who served as judge on “Chopped” and won the second season of “Tournament of Champions” in 2021. According to Food Network, the ingredients will be strictly plant-based with themes ranging from Southern hospitality to an Instagram-worthy dinner party.
“Becoming vegan changed my life and the way I cook — and I know folks can relate to the daily challenge of making the whole family happy with one meal, so we decided to make a game of it,” Brown says in an announcement by Food Network. “These chefs cook from the heart and their food is mind-blowing — viewers are sure to have a blast and be inspired for their next family dinner.”
Although this is the first vegan cooking show, this isn’t Brown’s first time on-air. “All Love” was launched on Ellen DeGeneres’ digital platform, Ellen Digital Network, in 2020 and both seasons are available to stream. Off-camera, the entrepreneur has created hair care line Donna’s Recipe, partnered with McCormick Spices to release an all-purpose spice, launched an apparel collection at Target and wrote New York Times bestselling memoir, “Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business)”.
Until “It’s CompliPlated” premieres, Brown’s TikTok will suffice for vegan-friendly cooking, but mark your calendars for its arrival in early August.
