One of this year’s biggest Halloween trends is in the cards … literally. With Summerween in full swing, we’re just beginning to get a glimpse of what’s to come this spooky season — and, as Anthropologie’s recent dinnerware collection from Ex-Libris Paris has confirmed, this year’s Halloween is going to be all about the mystical and magical world of Tarot, and I’m calling it “Tarotween.”

What Is “Tarotween”?

“Tarotween” decor is inspired, of course, by the Tarot deck: a set of 78 illustrated cards used for divination. Tarot is an ancient art used by many to gain insight into the future, but according to Tarot.com, the practice is far more nuanced than that. Many people turn to Tarot readings as a therapeutic resource or gain deeper insight into a current personal situation. Even if you’ve never heard of Tarot, you may recognize some of the iconography as symbols of mysticism, personal goals, or archetypal energies.

What I love about the Tarotween trend is that — just like the cards themselves — there are so many ways to interpret it. You can go with a subtle sun, moon, and stars theme to channel an astrological vibe, or lean fully into the world of Tarot with nods to the iconic Major and Minor Arcana motifs for a more spiritual feel. Tarot decor is also great for those who are already feeling the itch to decorate but don’t want to go full pumpkin yet, since celestial decor is versatile enough to keep up year-round.

Get The Look: Tarotween-Themed Decor I’m Loving Right Now

If you’re feeling inspired (or enticed) by the cards, check out our favorite Tarot-themed Halloween decorations — we can see more than a few of these in your future this fall.

Tarot Moon Card Oblong Pillow
$20

I love a throw pillow because it allows you to try a trend — and make a big impact — without a major commitment storage-wise. Marshalls, HomeGoods, and T.J.Maxx tend to put Halloween decor out super early, so you’ll certainly want to snag this Tarot card pillow before it’s too late.

Tarot Ceramic Mug
$10

You know it’s a trend when you see it at Michaels! If you want to add a touch of Tarotween to your barista cart, this Tarot Ceramic Mug from Ashland is so cute and available in four different assorted designs.

Handmade Felt Tarot Card Ornaments
$12

I love shopping for Halloween decor on Etsy because you can find some truly unique pieces, like these Handmade Felt Tarot Card Ornaments. If you buy all three, you can string them up on a piece of ribbon with other felted ornaments (like these cute bats) to create a garland. Or, simply hang the ornaments from your houseplants or cabinet doors.

Tarot Stoneware Plate
$34

Whether you’re hosting friends for a dinner party or refreshing your decorative plate wall, this Tarot plate from Anthropologie is the chicest piece of Tarotween decor. In addition to the L’Amoureux design, it’s also available in La Lune, Le Soleil, and L’Imperatrice. And, yes, you need all three.

Tarot Linen Cocktail Napkins

These linen cocktail napkins from Anthropologie are a perfect match for the Tarot plates, and are a must-have for your bar cart. They also make a fun Halloween host gift for a Tarot-obsessed friend.

This Tarot suncatcher is another unique Etsy find for Halloween — and it’s absolutely something you could leave up year-round. This piece features a crystal bead in the center that reflects light to create little rainbows throughout your space during the day.

Blue Tarot Sun Embroidered Throw Pillow
$40

For a pop of color — and a more eclectic decor style — consider this embroidered pillow from World Market. This throw pillow can be used both indoors and outdoors, so if you happen to live somewhere warm (hello, Los Angeles!) during spooky season, you can add it to your balcony decor, too.

Tarot Mirror

If humor is your usual Halloween aesthetic, this Tarot mirror from Etsy is another fun seasonal find. The mirror is made to order and available in three sizes. I think it’d look great in an entryway for your guests to admire, and could definitely also stay up year-round in an eclectic-style home.
