Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I moved here about a year ago from Houston and was not prepared for Denver’s competitive renting market! I knew I wanted to live in Capitol Hill, but I lost out on about five “perfect” rentals. When I came across this one-bedroom unit, in a restored 1928 Spanish-inspired building, I knew this had to be mine. I told the property manager to send me the lease before I even saw the place in person!

I picked up this theatre chair after a retail store finished using it for a window display.

After working from home this past year, I’ve gotten to spend plenty of time in my new home and luckily, it has lived up to my expectation. It has been the perfect bachelorette pad for me and my 2-year-old Yorkie, Maisie.

I love to cook so I had to utilize every inch of this tiny kitchen in order to make it functional.

I identify as a creative storyteller and I believe that is reflected in my home. I love being able to tell the story behind something in my home. It may be a piece of furniture that I made, something passed down from my family or even a piece I found in a dumpster. Someone visiting my home can point to just about anything and I’ll have a story to tell about it!

One of my great-grandmother's accent chairs and an ottoman my parents brought back from Dubai.

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room has to be my living room. It is where I feel the most at home! It has some of my favorite pieces such as my great-grandmother’s accent chairs, the coffee table I made myself, art and photos collected, and most importantly, the bar carts!

My biggest splurge! A gold velvet sofa from Article.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? A couple of weeks ago I found this beautiful lacquered tray near the dumpster by my building. Don’t worry, I cleaned it! When I got back inside, I looked up the markings and discovered it was a vintage Otagiri Blue Iris tray from Japan. I found another here on Charish.

I added this kitchen cart to serve as a workstation.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Patience. It’s tempting to want to buy everything at once and end up with a perfectly curated home. However, if you take your time and gather pieces along the way, finding inspiration organically, your home will become more than just a place where you keep your stuff.
