This glamping bus looks like a typical school bus from the outside but is pure magic on the inside. You may have seen it featured in Netflix’s “Expedition Happiness,” a documentary where a filmmaker and his musician girlfriend attempt an epic road trip with their dog on the refurbished bus. Now’s your chance to stay in it.

Surrounded by the Monte Nido mountains of California, it can accommodate four guests in a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed, all decked in quality, crisp white linens. In the living room area, glamping guests will find a full kitchen, complete with a refrigerator, oven, and stove, plus a seating area for eating inside. There’s also a jade-green tiled shower and compost toilet (though the compost toilet can be a little tricky at times) so guests can also use an outhouse available at all times.

The back room—where the queen-sized bed is—has a privacy screen and a flat-screen TV, with adorable industrial sconces above the headboard and wood panels on the wall that give the room an extra comfortable, homey feel. Outside is a charming deck with a ton of seating space for eating al fresco dining for six, relaxing on a futon, or chilling in the hammock between the trees.

Guests staying on the bus also have access to the property’s natural bottom pool, Jacuzzi, and occasionally offered yoga and sound healing classes. The property is on three acres of grand oak trees, world-famous hiking trails, natural boulders, deer, raccoons, coyotes, mountain lions, and the four resident rescue dogs who keep the coyotes away. Sounds pretty California, doesn’t it?

The property is surrounded by nature and the mountains but is also only five miles from sandy beaches, equipped with stunning sunsets, shops, restaurants and every other California cliché you could ask for. But returning to the magic school bus after a day out will always be just that: magic.
