It’s official. Trader Joe’s has finally resumed their free in-store samples.

After pausing their samples during the beginning of the pandemic, the beloved grocery store has brought back their food samples, which is coincidentally right before the holiday season. Yes, that means you can try their holiday Kringle guilt-free.

TikTok users have announced the rumored news by sharing content of the stores offering samples. @Traderjoesnew, known for sharing the company’s latest products with their followers, posted a video to remind everyone that their samples would resume on October 1.

Instagram user @mcc.calligraphy — who happens to be an artist at a Trader Joe’s in California — even created a colorful sign to announce the “Trader Joe’s experience” that has finally arrived in select stores.

The rumors of free sampling making its in-store return were shared last month on Reddit’s r/traderjoes community, and the comment section was divided about its return. Some health-conscious customers were not on board with a risk of contracting Covid-19, and others were hoping to see the wine samples make their grand return. And one commented, “Damn, it’s been so long that I forgot samples were ever a thing!”

It’s been nearly three years since the store’s food was available to sample, so what does that mean for their free coffee?

According to an article by CBS News, Trader Joe’s employees in New York and California confirmed that the company’s complimentary hot coffee station will not return. Although the free cups of coffee were a welcoming entrance into the store, it’s nice to hear that the free food samples are back in time for the holiday cookies and limited-time dishes.

There’s no doubt that the company will benefit from offering free tastings, but customers will now have the benefit to sample most items that they’ve been eyeing on their latest grocery store run. Although the company seems to not have plans to relaunch the in-store samples nationwide, stop at your nearby Trader Joe’s while you’re plant shopping and swing by the store’s counter.
