Trader Joe’s New Halloween Planters Are For Tim Burton Lovers

Trader Joe’s has slowly (but surely!) been rolling out Halloween decor in the plant section over the past month. And the latest addition to their planter lineup is a set of four spooky skulls that look like they just popped out of a Tim Burton animated movie. And you’ll definitely want to collect them all.

“How stinkin cute are these? The first one came home with me,” Instagram user @traderjoes.and.target.finds wrote in the caption of their September 24 post. “They are giving me ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ vibes.” Agreed!

They’re kind of like Jack Skellington meets Oogie Boogie in a cute and creepy way.

There are four planters available — two different faces available in two black-and-white colorways — and each one comes with a sweet little air plant. 

So far they’ve been spotted at Trader Joe’s stores in New Jersey and Rhode Island, but be patient if your stores don’t have them in stock yet. We still have plenty of time before Halloween hits, even though must of us are already in full spooky mode.

And the air plants that come in these planters are super easy to take care of. They’ll thrive in spaces that get humid (like your bathroom), but can also do well in drier areas in your home as long as they’re misted often. 

You should also soak your air plants about once per week face down in a bowl of water. Let them soak for about 10 to 20 minutes and then shake any excess water off before returning them to their planters.

These may be the perfect planters for Halloween, but these guys are so cute that you can definitely keep them out all year long!
