Trader Joe’s Is Selling “Hipster Planters” And They’re Super Groovy

The next time you head to your local Trader Joe’s keep an eye out for their out-of-sight new foliage planters. TJ’s is selling new ceramic planters that are made to look like vintage Volkswagen buses that even inspire “peace” with their super-groovy license plates.

A couple of Trader Joe’s fan accounts on Instagram have been posting about the new plant items, dubbed “Hipster Foliage” planters, and sharing that, depending on the location, they’re being sold for just six or seven dollars. Totally far out.

“Needless to say Trader Joe’s always brings me back for these super cute plants that I collect around the house and this one is making it to my desk,” @TraderJoesNew wrote in the caption of their Jan. 17 Instagram post. “What’s your favorite one?? I got the bright yellow!!!”

TJ’s also has an orange bus, a blue bus, and a green bus, so you can grab your fave or collect all four. Each bus has a different tropical plant growing inside, including baby rubber plants, prayer peperomia, and happy bean plants. So no matter which bus you pick up, you’ll have a unique addition to your indoor garden.

And to care for your new plant, @TraderJoesNew suggested, “Make sure you don’t let the soil dry out and keep it wet/damp.” Tropical plants love humidity, so keeping it near a humidifier may be beneficial.

Just when you think you’ve kicked your Trader Joe’s plant addiction to the curb, the store brings out items like the Hipster Planter that you can’t not bring home. Looks like it’s time to make room on your plant stands.
