Trader Joe’s $4 Mango Candle Makes Any Home Smell Like Summer Long After August

Among all of our five senses, it’s been said that scent is truly the best at triggering memories deep in the brain. And one such fragrance that always reminds me of summertime is Trader Joe’s beloved Mango Tangerine scented candle. Year after year, shoppers wait for that timely drop of these $4 candles to make their home smell like a deliciously fruity paradise. 

If you’re one of those folks who looks forward to the restock of this scent, you’re in luck. The beloved grocery chain just stocked its shelves with an abundance of the mango and tangerine-scented candles, but you’ll want to shop quickly. Knowing how popular this scent is, I can’t imagine they’ll stay stocked for long. 

If you’re worried that the candle’s price point or its tiny stature means that it likely won’t put out much of a scent, I’m happy to say that’s not the case. The creatives at Trader Joe’s explain that this candle, which is one of their OG scents and helped launch the craze for its seasonal candle offerings, has an excellent “throw,” meaning the scent travels quite far. “The new Mango Tangerine candle from Trader Joe’s stands out … it surprised me with a bright, fruity scent, and has become a daily staple in the home,” wrote TikTok creator Sebastián Naranjo in a recent review. 

“The fragrance reads as a clear mango-forward blend with tangerine brightness. It’s fruity, uplifting, and not overly sweet or cloying — the kind of scent that freshens a room without overpowering it,” Naranjo added. Plus, the candle’s configuration is hard to beat. It comes in a stainless-steel vessel with a lid (you could use it afterward for coin or match storage!) that’s easy to tote around from room to room. Additionally, it has a cotton wick that heats the natural soy wax blend, per the brand’s website. 

Trader Joe’s often swaps out their products, so what’s there right now likely won’t be around forever (until it’s one day restocked — which we’ll always keep you abreast of!). If your Trader Joe’s runs out of the mango and tangerine-scented candle, you should look for another popular alternative: the Woodlands scented candle. It’s available for a limited time as well and gives off earthy notes like cypress, jasmine, and moss. It also comes in a matte black tin, which is a bold take on the chain’s traditional silver packaging. 

While it’s a bummer that our favorite Trader Joe’s scented candles aren’t around 24/7, it’s also what makes the anticipated drop of them so special. Plus, at only $4, it’s a guilt-free experience if you want to shop multiple at one time (just make sure to leave one for me!).
