You know a new season has hit if Trader Joe’s offers a brand new set of decorative planters. Summer is in full swing, and Trader Joe’s “pool float” planters are definitely a summer vibe.

Trader Joe’s locations across the country recently rolled out three new planters — a duck pool float, a flamingo pool float, and a unicorn pool float, all housing a random assortment of houseplants like baby rubber plants and arrowhead plants.

“Just when I think the planters can’t get any cuter, come these little guys,” Instagram user @traderjoesgeek captioned their July 8 post.

They look like vintage kitsch planters — especially the pink and yellow ones.

The planters, called “foliage in ceramic pool toys,” are going for just $6.99, and they likely won’t last long.

To care for your foliage plants once you’ve brought them home, make sure they’re in a spot with indirect or filtered sunlight and only water when the soil is dry all the way through (every one to two weeks).

You may find you have to re-pot your foliage into a larger pot as it grows, but your Trader Joe’s planter can be used to start new offshoot plants — just put some rocks at the bottom of the planter before you add your soil and plants to you have a proper drainage system.

Run, don’t walk, to grab one of these pool floaties to add to your growing collection of Trader Joe’s planters. That plant shelf is probably pretty full already, but there’s always room for just one more.
