6 Travel Destinations that Will Inspire Your Decorating
Ahh summer vacations. We never want them to end. One of the highlights of returning home, however, is being able to infuse your space with some of those unforgettable memories. I’m a big fan of collecting travel treasures, but another way you can keep the vacation vibes going all year long is by allowing the local flavor of the destination itself to inspire your décor.
To get your creative juices flowing, I’ve gathered some dreamy spaces that capture the vibe and aesthetic of some of the best travel destinations in the world. Even if you’ve never visited these locales, introducing a few touches of its style into your space can instantly transport you there—no passport required.
Cabo
Cozy striped Mexican blankets and bright floral accent pillows are an easy way to bring a bit of Mexican cheer into your space. The more color, the better. We also love the festive twinkly lights on the balcony of this home. They scream “fiesta”!
Costa Rica
If you traveled somewhere tropical like Costa Rica this summer, consider transforming your living room into your own lush, exotic haven with lots of greenery, animal-printed throw pillows, and flamingo accents.
Paris
It’s hard to visit Paris and not fall completely in love. If that was the case for you, embrace those Parisian vibes by bathing your living room in neutral colors and mixing masculine modern pieces with feminine antique gems. The result: a simple and elegant retreat that’s the epitome of Parisian chic.
Morocco
Creating your own exotic outdoor space is another fun option. Take inspiration from this Moroccan-inspired patio that’s awash in a bold blue hue and sprinkled with yellow and turquoise accents. The Moroccan patio isn’t complete without Mediterranean plants, a trickling fountain, and a Moroccan tiled table.
Alaska
Yes, even your little ones can enjoy some travel-inspired decor in their nursery. We love this soothing Alaska-inspired room featuring a painted ombre mountain range in soft blue and grey tones.
Palm Beach
Couldn’t make it to Florida this summer? Bring Florida to you with beachy, Palm Beach-inspired decor such as teal walls, all-white furnishings, seashell and pineapple accents, palm leaf-printed wallpaper, and lots and lots of plants.
