Ty Pennington Gave a Glimpse of His New Carriage House That Is Straight Out of a Fairytale
Ty Pennington is offering a look at the exterior of his dreamy new carriage house, and it’s straight out of a fairytale. The HGTV star took to Instagram on Jan. 23 to share a picture of the back of his Savannah property, showing the home and small accompanying pool.
“This is the courtyard featuring our new pool and the carriage house — taken from the rooftop patio,” Pennington wrote. “We are absolutely loving the pool btw! I get in it almost every night (it’s a hot tub too).”
The creamy white house is accented by light blue shutters and several plants, and it sits on a brick patio, right next to the pool. Pennington grew up in Georgia and often spends his time when he’s not filming, so it’s no surprise that that’s where he’s deciding to put more roots down.
“Sidenote: the shutters were accidentally painted the wrong color — they’re supposed to be more of a green blue,” Pennington added. “So they’re going to be repainted.” A renovation update to look forward to!
Pennington and his wife, social media manager Kellee Merrell, purchased the house in Sept. 2020, which was mentioned in an earlier post, and got married on the property in Nov. 2021. The duo have been slowly renovating the 1800s main house and have offered small looks into the interior recently, but refrained from sharing clear outside shots “for privacy reasons.” Pennington noted that they’ll “be tackling the inside of the carriage house in the spring.”
The “Ty Breaker” host shared that they probably won’t be done with the main house until this summer, putting the total renovation time at almost two years. Pennington said that he wanted to share the slow-but-steady progress with fans to show that making your dream home typically doesn’t happen at the speed of most TV renovations, but that “in the end, it’s all worth it.”
