Don’t call Ghostbusters, but you’ve got to hear about this spooky rug that’s making a return this Halloween.

Last year, a ridiculously festive and cute black and white rug featuring boo-tiful ghosts from HomeGoods, Marshalls, and T.J. Maxx went viral on TikTok, which made it extremely difficult to find.

And now, the instantly iconic $30 rug is back — and it’s not scaring anyone off. With two months to go until Halloween, shoppers are already scouring the carpet section at their local HomeGoods affiliate, and the #ghostrug hashtag is currently trending at 15 million views.

Of course, it’s already sold out online, but that doesn’t mean IRL shoppers should give up hope. TikTok user Emma Loney (@emma.loney) was fortunate enough to spot the coveted rug at a Marshalls after a failed first attempt at her local HomeGoods.

Shoppers have been placing their rugs throughout different locations in their home, including in bedrooms, bathrooms, and even kitchens. The runner is 20″ x 60″, which explains why it is eerily perfect for a kitchen or bathroom. As if haunting ghouls weren’t enough, a skeleton rug was also spotted at Marshalls this month.

As the spooky season nears, other retailers like Kohls and Target are releasing their fall and Halloween decor. Miniature cauldrons, ghost-shaped pillows, and a glass pumpkin drink dispenser have been spotted on TikTok to assist you in decorating just in time for September.

Whether you’re able to snag one of these rugs or not, HomeGoods and their sister companies have a tremendous amount of items awaiting your Halloween-decorated home.
