The Clever Hawaiian Roll Sandwich Hack I Wish I Discovered Way Sooner
No need to turn on the oven or even flick on the stove to make lunch this summer, this viral sandwich hack will solve all of your problems. All you need is a package of your go-to deli meat and cheese, condiments like mayonnaise and mustard, and a large pack of sweet Hawaiian rolls.

This idea originally came from Claire Edwards on TikTok, who was in the market for an easy lunch to take with her when she brings her kids to the pool for the day. This hack has you making tiny sandwich sliders perfect for little hands, and easy clean up for the parents as well.
Here’s what you do: Take out the Hawaiian rolls from the plastic bag and open up the sides of the box, but don’t remove the rolls from the bottom of the box. (This is key for later!) Slice the rolls in half hamburger-style — yes the entire sheet of rolls, do not tear them apart individually yet. Then spread your condiments on the bottom, like mayonnaise and mustard. Once you have enough condiments to layer all of the bottoms of those rolls, then place down slices of deli meat (like turkey or ham) and slices of cheese (like American or Colby Jack). Then finish by layering the sheet of top buns over the sandwiches.
Now here’s where things get interesting, and convenient. To make it easy to grab sandwiches on the go, slice the sliders up using a bread knife. Again, don’t remove the box. Instead, fold it up and slide the sandwiches back in the plastic bag for easy travel. You now have sandwiches that are easy to throw in a cooler, then unpackage and serve whenever you or the little ones are hungry for lunch — or a hearty snack!
You could attempt this clever trick for any sandwich combination of your choice, like any one of these hearty sandwich recipes.
