Working from home for over five years has taught me a lot. Mostly that it’s nearly impossible to find stylish, well-made office furniture. It feels like a lot of the design-forward pieces I find aren’t great quality, and the sturdier ones come up short in the aesthetics department. Fortunately West Elm just launched West Elm Office, the brand’s dedicated line of workspace essentials, and let me tell you — it’s the rebrand that office furniture needed.

Made up of six unique collections, including new and familiar favorites starting at $199, West Elm Office is designed to elevate the way you work. Featuring modular silhouettes that are easy to customize, the pieces are decked in modern finishes that make a stylish and sophisticated first impression. It’s office furniture you’ll want to unblur your Zoom background for, basically. And because it’s West Elm, everything is contract-grade and made to last (which makes it worth the investment, in my opinion).

If you’re looking to upgrade your WFH space, I did all the West Elm Office research for you. Now I’m circling back to report on all the collection’s standout pieces.

Marlowe Desk
$799

The Marlowe desk is unlike any other West Elm desk I’ve seen. It’s all clean lines and glossy, lacquered wood, with a polished stainless steel or black powder-coated anthracite finished frame. Conveniently, it comes in a 42-inch and a 60-inch width, so it’s a fit for small and large workspaces alike.

Wallace Modular Narrow Shelf Unit
$1,299

For anyone who fantasizes about having their own personal library, this modular shelf unit is the most stylish way to do it. Its bold perpendicular lines make a statement, while the open shelves and light wood finish give it an airy, approachable look. The 48-inch-wide shelf looks beautiful on its own, of course, but looks even better as a set of two if you have the wall space.

Marlowe Storage Cart
$699

This versatile rolling cart is the perfect place to store office gear and supplies, or even function as a mobile work station if you’re really tight on space. Stash your laptop and notebooks in the cart’s roomy drawer, and use its smooth lacquered surface to display decor. Office space aside, this piece would make the chicest bar cart!

Pierce L-Shaped Desk
$1,398

Bring a cool, Scandi vibe to your workspace with the Pierce desk’s simple yet striking silhouette and edgy metal frame. The L-shape requires a bit more floor space, but it’s worth it for the spacious storage cabinet complete with sliding doors and adjustable interior shelves. And think about all the surface area you’re getting! It’s perfect for folks with a dual-monitor setup.

Colombo Leather Office Chair
$549

When it comes to unsightly office furniture, desk chairs are usually the worst offenders — but the Colombo office chair changes all that. Its tufted leather cushions and sleek stainless steel frame have an unmistakable mid-century modern look, while the foam- and fiber-filled cushions make it a chair you’ll actually want to sit in (even during back-to-back meetings!).

Tandem Free Standing Shelf
$1,149

Consider this sleek storage shelf your office’s blank canvas. Its crisp, Alabaster White finish and powder-coated metal frame mean anything you put on its three adjustable shelves is sure to stand out. And for the items you’d rather keep hidden, the sliding storage cabinet at its base has plenty of room.

Hughes Mini Desk
$599

Measuring 36 inches wide, the Hughes mini desk is apt for even the tiniest of home workspaces. Its blonde frame features a rich, red-brown desktop for a stylish mixed media effect. And the sliding drawer gives you a place to stash smaller items like pens, cables, and notebooks.
