Clamshell Accents Are Making Waves in the Decor World — Here’s What to Shop
From social media to home decor websites, clamshell accents seem to be everywhere right now. I’ve even happily embraced this trend in my own home after scooping up a gold clamshell-shaped dish from a local boutique in New York City.
I love how it looks on the open shelves in my living room, but I’ve also styled it on my coffee table and used it to hold matches from some of my favorite local restaurants. Recently, I found a second clamshell at a different home store in the city and use it to hold my jewelry on my nightstand at the end of the day.
To me, it makes total sense that clamshells are having a major moment — after all, they fit in perfectly with the coastal grandmother aesthetic that’s been popular for the past couple of years. As someone whose style leans more contemporary, I like that clamshells nicely complement my neutral color palette and add textural intrigue to any vignette. Plus, who doesn’t love their funky, wavy shape?
If you’re in the market for some clamshell accents of your own, I’ve rounded up some of my top picks, all of which come in at under $65 each.
