Before & After: A Drab Lanai Gets a Colorful Update
Project by: Becky Daly of Daly Digs
Location: Tampa, Florida
Becky’s client wanted to add some oomph to her outdoor space, so she designed a lanai that reflected her passions, style and personality. The space went from standard to stunning with bold and bright furniture, plenty of greenery and surprising accents sprinkled throughout.
From Becky: My client friend Jessica wanted to transform her drab lanai into a tropical, West Indies-inspired oasis. She is a lover of blue and white and her entire home is sprinkled with this color scheme as well as odes to travel and exotic locations.
We carried this theme out to the lanai where she and her family use the space to relax by the pool, grill out and entertain guests. We designed the lanai to have a zone for dining and a separate lounge area. I anchored the zones with outdoor rugs, brought in lots of plants, new outdoor furniture and pops of color in accents and decor throughout. Wicker textures paired with banana leaf print and blue and white patterns make this a fun, vibrant piece of paradise in her backyard.
