#CleanTok — the section of TikTok with time-saving cleaning hacks and product recommendations — is the gift that keeps on giving. I’ve lost track of how many changes I’ve made to my cleaning routine due to a tip that I discovered on the app, and now, I’m about to add another to the list. As I was scrolling through my For You page the other day, a post that earned over a million likes caught my eye. In it, the user scrubs the dirt out of the grout on their tile floors. By the end of the video, the visual difference is huge.

The product responsible for the change? Zep’s Grout Cleaner and Brightener. I hadn’t heard of it before the aforementioned video, but apparently, it went viral a few years ago, too. Then, one of our contributors heard about it and decided to try it for herself. She said the solution really does result in floors that are “cleaner and brighter with no more nearly black lines outlining each square of tile.” Find out more below!

What Is the Zep Grout Cleaner and Brightener?

This pro-grade formula is intended for use on most floors with grout lines (just make sure to avoid contact with marble, stone, and stainless steel, which can get damaged.) All you need to do is pour the solution out of the small opening on top of the bottle, run it quickly over the lines (it’s okay if it touches the tile), and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, get your scrub brush out and get to work. You’ll immediately see the dirt lifting off of the surface, according to contributor Shifrah. Lastly, remove it from the floor once you’ve hit every spot. Once you tackle the bathroom, you’ll want to hit the kitchen and any other area with tile right away. You won’t believe how much better your floors will look!

What Amazon Shoppers Are Saying

Average Rating: 4.3/5

“I can’t believe how easy and effortless it is to use this. This has saved me hundreds. I was going to have the grout line professionally cleaned but stumbled across this product and decided to give it a chance because it was so cheap. OMG! This was sent by God! Literally the easiest process ever.” — John “Mr. So ExQuiiSiiTe” Oliver

“This product got the grout cleaned on my bathroom floors. It says to wait two or three minutes, but it works faster than that. I used a small grout brush but didn’t have to scrub hard. Just make sure you wear gloves and [the] area is well ventilated.” — Stephanie Young

“I’ve tried a lot of other chemicals including bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and other grout cleaners. This one works the best of all of them, especially for pet urine stains. The smell is not horrible, but good ventilation is needed. It’s not as harsh as bleach but worse than hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide (12%) didn’t clean well, though. Versus Clorox bleach, it works better at cleaning and whitening.” — Kwan L. Lowe

It seems like no other solution works on the same level as Zep’s. If you want to cover multiple rooms like I do, I recommend grabbing two or three bottles — especially while the two-pack is over 20% off!
