It seems like every time you peruse the wood section at your local thrift store, you stumble upon those accordion peg racks that can be used for a myriad different things, from towel racks and key holders to tool and jewelry storage. But one TikToker found a unique way to put those pegs to work, and now you’ll see them in a totally different way.

TikTok user Channy Gray from the @channygrayhome account posted a video to her feed showing how she mounted one of the accordion peg racks to her wall for her pothos plant to climb on.

Her plant was already happily existing in a wall-mounted holder, but you could attach a peg rack to the wall above any vine plant on a table or in a macrame hanger. And because of the accordion feature, the DIY wall trellis can grow with your plant — start with it scrunched and then spread it out as your plant takes off.

“Jungle vibes just increased,” Channy wrote in a text block over the video.

“This is brilliant!” one commenter wrote. Another added, “Thank you for this idea! I have a plant in my bathroom that is trailing all over the floor. I know exactly what to do now!”

You could even acquire an entire collection of peg racks and create a giant trellis that covers an entire wall. And because the pegs are large enough to hang towels on, you can still use the racks as storage or for decor purposes. Hang hand towels, display ornaments, or install them in your front entryway for leashes, keys, and hats.

Next time you see one of these accordion peg racks at the thrift store, pick it up and give your vine plant a space to spread out and really get growing.
