Philadelphia residence with white walls, lots of wood details: bathroom with oval freestanding tub, brown and white checkered bath mat, glass shower with white tiles, rose gold hardware, plants. Window over tub and in shower

When my husband and I first moved into our apartment a few months ago, I was so excited about having my own bathroom (and a huge one at that), that I failed to notice a few details that would later bug me down the road. Outdated stainless steel drawer handles, a slightly off-center wall light, and no windows started to make me feel like it’d be a challenge to turn my bathroom into the sanctuary I wanted it to be.

After making a few adjustments and adding in some much-needed colorful pieces, though, it started to come together. But there was still one glaring issue: There was no toilet paper holder.

We needed toilet paper holders for convenience, but I didn’t want to drill anything into the sides of the vanities. Above all, I wanted something that would calm my clutter pet peeve. After some research, I found a sleek solution that not only looks great, but also reduces that dreaded clutter-induced stress I’d feel every time I walked into the bathroom.

Because I had just swapped out the stainless steel drawer handles for acrylic ones, finding this acrylic toilet paper holder felt like kismet. I loved that it had an adhesive backing for a renter-friendly installation and removal and, best of all, the little shelf acted as mini storage for a single item such as baby wipes, a phone, or even a tiny succulent.

I have a small bottle of rosemary peppermint room spray that I make myself, but laziness kept me from stowing it in a drawer and so on the counter it stayed. This toilet paper holder not only keeps my toilet paper roll in place, accessible, and away from the tank lid, but it also provides the perfect spot to keep this room spray and make my bathroom smell fresh. (It would also be a great shelf for a bottle of Poo-Pourri.) As a bonus, this holder doesn’t show fingerprints or the white fuzz of toilet paper the way others do, so keeping it clean is barely a thought.

Despite being a small, ordinary product, this little toilet paper holder has done so much to level up life in my bathroom. It’s helped me to consolidate my clutter, add a touch of style, and create a stress-free, peppermint-scented, relaxing environment that I can actually enjoy.
