When I was decorating the bathroom of my new apartment, I did all of the pretty stuff first. You know — picking out a floral shower curtain from West Elm, finding a sage green bath mat to match, putting a few pieces of art on the walls. I put it off for as long as I could, but then it was time to get down to business and figure out where to put everything. Soon, I was swapping out the print on the wall for a medicine cabinet. (Fortunately, it looks as cute as the print did.) I added a narrow rolling cart, too.
Those changes tackled my makeup storage problem, but one issue I still couldn’t figure out was where to store all of my bath towels. I’m a fan of thick, spa-like towels, but their only drawback is that when I’m not using them, they take up a gargantuan amount of space. I don’t have a linen closet, so I dedicated an entire dresser drawer to towels, but that didn’t work for a number of reasons. (One: I have too many clothes, and that drawer is valuable real estate. Two: It’s better to have my towels within reach from the shower.)
Enter: this gorgeous $27 towel rack I found on Amazon, which made my tiny, storage-less bathroom more functional than I expected.
What Is the HOTNIU Towel Rack?
Making the most of vertical space with its 30-inch height, this towel rack can hold anything from rolled-up towels to blankets to yoga mats. It only comes out about six inches from the wall, so it holds them all without jutting out too far into your space. There’s also a secure shelf on the bottom that keeps towels from falling through any gaps.
That brings me to its first game-changing feature: Right underneath the bottom shelf are three hooks that you can leave attached or separate from the rack to have stand on their own. The next is that there’s a solid shelf at the top for even more storage! All that in a stylish package made of rust-resistant metal. Gold, black, silver, and white options are available, so you can choose the one that best complements your bathroom decor.
Why I Love the HOTNIU Towel Rack
As a renter, I don’t install things on my wall on a whim, but so far I have absolutely zero regrets regarding this handy storage solution — it’s totally worth filling up the holes later. (Speaking of, the assembly and installation was painless.) At first, I was worried that having all of my towels out for the world to see would detract from the overall appearance of my bathroom. However, I’m glad to say that I was mistaken.
The design of the rack itself is minimalist and no-frills, and the gold color actually creates an air of glam in the tiny space. When rolled up and compact, my white towels almost blend into the wall. They don’t budge from where they’re stacked — when I pull one towel out, it doesn’t dislodge the others. I can fit at least five of my fluffiest, extra-long towels, and they’re all within reaching distance from the shower.
Besides its lack of storage, another downside of my bathroom is that there’s no hand towel hook to be found, so this find knocks out two birds with one stone. The three hooks along the bottom have been endlessly handy: While one holds a hand towel, I’ve started placing stray hair elastics on the others. All in all, this gem might just be the best $27 I could’ve ever spent for my bathroom.
