Before & After: Simple Changes Make a Big Difference
It doesn’t always take expensive and dramatic changes to refresh a room. Follow me after the jump to see how Andi used small details to pack a new punch in her attic guest room.Just by adding adding a bold blue and a few new accessories, Andi took this guest room from minimal and plain to cheery Mediterranean cottage. She painted in headboards, added a table, lamp, pillows, and a window treatment, and called it a day.

It was a space they had walked past a number of times, but that night something was different. Before & After: My Teeny Tiny English Balcony Upgrade
Watson, my French bulldog, approves of the new front balcony furniture and window boxes filled with herbs. I have a notorious black thumb, so the plants were my biggest hesitation, as I hate the idea of making the investment in something that I have been known to kill in a matter of weeks. So I consulted my friends who love to garden and they recommended the heartiest of herbs, which include thyme and rosemary (also a few of my favorites when cooking).

Tonya lives in a “fantastically old” house that’s filled to the brim with home improvement projects. The target for one of these projects was a blank corner of her kitchen that needed seating beyond just the high chair that usually lived there. Before & After: An Art Deco Makeover
When I first looked at this piece I thought, “Oh, just a little polishing and it’ll be good as new.” To my surprise, that is not what the after was about to reveal at all. This piece of furniture got a full on Art Deco Makeover. The original style of this piece didn’t fit into the rest of the home’s decor, so it got sanded, painted and pounded. It took 1300 upholstery nails to get it to its final state. That is some serious dedication.
