It’s that time of year when a lot of people are graduating, and striking out on their own, and moving into their first real ‘adult’ home or apartment. It’s an exciting, and maybe also a little intimidating, time, full of possibilities and pitfalls. Here are a few of the things that I wish I had known when I was a fledgling decorator, all those years ago. 1. Don’t buy everything all at once.

Before & After: A Boring Bedroom Goes Bold
Project by: Lisa of Lisa Zager Interiors Location: Nashville, Tennessee The designer says: This bedroom was re-done for a 10-year-old boy, who loved bold patterns and colors. We wanted this space to be very graphic and modern for him, something he can grow up in, with a hint of sophisticated style. The juxtoposition of bold black and whites against his neon, bright colored toys and accents in the room is one of our favorite elements.
