Name: Kimberly Location: Arcadia — Phoenix, Arizona My boyfriend Jose and I (as well as our dog, bb, and cat, leopold) live in this cozy mid-century modern Ralph Haver patio home in sunny Phoenix, AZ. Ralph Haver was a well known mid century modern architect here in Phoenix in the 50s and 60s. Reno Reveal: A Major DIY Bathroom Redo (Done Just in the Nick of Time!)

Phew. This project was a squeaker. Ashley found out she was pregnant after the renovation was planned and wound up photographing the final space at about thirty-seven weeks. I think she’s pretty happy she didn’t bring her new baby daughter home while the paint was still drying. Take a look at the finished space!

Hi, Erin. I’m the buyer who saw and bid on your apartment earlier this month. So began an email I received last spring from a guy I’ll call Chris. My little condo was on the market, listed with a nice agent at a regular real estate firm. Brokers and apartment hunters had been tramping through the place daily, kicking me out to peer in the fridge and disparage my spiral staircase. After some weeks, two buyers were interested. A bidding war (or at least a scuffle) was afoot.

Before & After: A Chaise Gets Updated With Not One, Not Two, But Three New Textiles

The good eyes over at Mignonne Decor were able to overlook the 90s sitcom floral pattern of this chaise and see it for its true potential. They not only re upholstered this bad boy, they used a total unique mix of textiles to do so! From Johnelle: Mignonne Decor is a furniture and design shop based in Berkeley CA. We specialize in transforming the old and unwanted into fun and funky statement pieces! We reupholster, re-stain, repaint and repair, all in house.

Love Makes a Family: Create a Lifebook Gallery Wall to Welcome a New Family Member

We know parents struggle selecting a nursery theme. Circus animals? Spaceships? Flowers? But what if the nursery’s theme was the reason for existing in the first place: the kids themselves? We thought on that for a while and came up with an idea we’re excited to share! Our inspiration came from “lifebooks,” the collections of photos and mementos parents create to tell the complete story of their adoptive children, but it will work well with all infants.
