In Brittany & Jordan’s newly renovated camper, a lot of DIY went a long way. To take the living space from floral to fabulous, Brittany proudly designed and built this storage futon herself. When she couldn’t find the right futon/couch/storage solution for the camper, she used her knowledge from years of working in her dad’s shop to come up with the design, cut all the pieces, assemble, rework and reassemble the structure.

Katie and Patrick spend a lot of time listening to music on the record player that Patrick restored. As they shared in their House Tour, “Since we don’t have a fireplace, it’s the hearth of our home.” Because of Patrick’s career as an audio engineer and tour manager, he worked on the project over the span of five months in between tours. Had his schedule allowed dedicated time at home, he says he could have completed the project in about three weekends.

After buying this foreclosed one-bedroom in a trendy area of Charlotte, North Carolina, new homeowners Katie and Patrick were greeted with a less-than-encouraging scene. As they shared in their House Tour, “The day we officially moved in, this is what we found: a foreclosure notice, a bullet, an inmate identification card, and a dead pigeon.” First on the long list of much-needed home improvements was a renovation of the dated kitchen.
