Avocado City Bed Frame in bedroom

I’m not going to lie — I’ve always thought of bed frames as being more about aesthetics rather than comfort. That is, until I slept on Avocado’s City Bed Frame. Before testing this product (aka a gift sent from the furniture gods), I had a platform frame with legs that needed to be screwed in, and they required constant tightening — sometimes even in the middle of the night.

Oftentimes I’d wake up groggy or feel restless before getting to bed because I was always nervous that one of the legs would cave in during the night. It’s safe to say I wasn’t getting a restful sleep. However, since I received Avocado’s bed frame, I no longer have those fears or awful slumbers — my smartwatch even confirms it. Here’s everything I love about it, and why you might too.

Quick Overview

A Quick Look at Avocado’s City Bed Frame

  • Made from solid North American timber
  • Sizes range from twin to California king
  • Comes in two colors: blonde or walnut
  • Can be purchased without or with a headboard (for an additional cost)

Design Features That Stand Out

I’m currently in the (two-year) process of turning my bedroom into a monochrome, color-drenched blue space. Until I find the perfect blue headboard, I’ve been searching for frames that can seamlessly blend into the room while also being sturdy and offering storage space underneath. Avocado’s City Bed Frame checks all those boxes.

What really sold me was the option to choose whether or not to have a headboard (I opted out!). The frame definitely leans towards a minimalist or Scandinavian style, but that’s the beauty of it. It can work in several different styles, and the blonde color (which I chose) instantly warmed up my room without competing with the blue.

Another bonus was the storage space under the bed. While it’s a tighter fit than beds I’ve had in the past, I’m still able to store four cloth clothing bins underneath, but I had to take proper measurements first.

How Avocado’s City Bed Frame Performed

Remember the fear of my previous bed’s leg caving in? I’ve never had that with this bed frame. For starters, the delivery people put the frame together — the brand boasts that no tools are required for this — and it hasn’t squeaked or moved once. My previous frame sometimes felt like a waterbed because of its excessive swaying, but Avocado’s frame is as sturdy as they come.

What we love

  • Sturdiness: The bed frame doesn’t move or squeak. (I’ve done multiple jump tests.)
  • Assembly: I’m not a project person and even though I didn’t assemble my bed frame, the no-tools requirement intrigues me.
  • Storage: Having storage space was a must and I’m still able to keep the same amount of clothes underneath.

Good to know

  • The headboard will cost you extra.

Should YOU Buy Avocado’s City Bed Frame?

I absolutely, 10/10 recommend Avocado’s City Bed Frame. Besides being so sturdy and offering storage space, it blends well in any setting. Whenever I move to a two-bedroom apartment, this bed frame will either remain in my room or go in the guest room — regardless, I’m never getting rid of it. This beautiful, durable bed frame has improved my sleep, and I can guarantee it will do the same for you.
