Heidi described her main bathroom as “tiny and odd,” and “yuck, yuck, yucky.”  It was beige with yellow lighting, an ugly vanity and a crooked door.  Well, it’s yellow no more.

She opened up the space by removing the vanity and installing a pedestal sink, then adding plenty of wall storage. She used galvanized pipe and hardwood planks — stained and sealed — to create a custom shelving unit and towel bars. She also painted the whole room bright white and installed daylight bulbs to fight the yellow and the lack of natural light.

The toughest and most time intensive part was replacing the flooring. After pulling up the old stuff, she realized that the entire sub-flooring needed replacing. Good thing it was a small room!

Heidi says, “It feels like an entirely different space now and we love it!”
