The 10 Best New Home Appliances and Electronics on Our Wish List from IFA Berlin 2024
I love a home-focused trade show, whether it’s devoted to kitchen and bath products, design, or something else. They’re amazing for learning about a new talented maker or a company that’s doing something cool for homes, or just spotting an emerging design trend.
The latest show on my radar? IFA Berlin, which is all about consumer electronics that run the gamut from home appliances and cleaning gadgets to small electronic personal care items and much more.
I searched high and low for the best new products of 2024 coming out of the IFA show that wrapped earlier this week in Berlin, Germany. Here’s what earned Apartment Therapy’s “Best in Show” seal — and what you should keep your eye out for coming to market this year (if it’s not available already).
1. Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty Cordless Vacuum
I got to experience the power of this cordless stick vac myself; it tackled the dirt and debris on my area carpets and floors in my living room and dining area quickly and efficiently. The machine is truly intuitive — when it detects corners where cobwebs and dust bunnies pile up, it kicks into higher gear to get the job done there quickly, and it can distinguish between different floor types and carpet piles, too, so it’s always providing the right force for the surface.
And did I mention its maneuverability? Not only is it light and nimble, but the brilliant wand also “bends” to a setting that allows you to use it under sofas and beds. Two other amazing features? It empties itself into a compartment on the charging dock for easy cleanup, and it runs for about 70 minutes without having to juice it up.

2. LG 2024 InstaView Oven
LG’s InstaView fridge is an Apartment Therapy favorite, thanks to its smart, sleek window design that allows you to peek into the heart of your fridge to see what needs replenishing, all without ever opening the door. Now the brand’s expanding its purview with the energy-saving InstaView oven.
Cook with the power of AI, which identifies what’s being made using a built-in camera and then sets the mode, time, and temperature for the dish based on a database of common recipes. You’ll never lose heat and cooking time by opening the door to check on your food again, either, thanks to this model’s “InstaView” design.
3. Eureka J15 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum
Robot vacuums have come a long way from when I started covering the home market in the early 2010s — what were once clunky (and frankly clumsy) machines that barely surface-cleaned are now efficient grime-busters. Case in point: the Eureka J15 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum. It’s a spendy model, but you get a lot of bang for your buck.
This robot features a self-cleaning dock, so you almost never have to get your hands dirty, even after a deep clean. It also boasts new hair detangling technologies and scrubbers to help you sop up all the dust, pet hair, and debris around furniture legs and tight corners. And yes — it can tackle both wet and dry messes, so it’s great for spills and stubborn stains, too.

4. Tineco Pure ONE Station
Self-cleaning cleaning appliances really were the name of the game at this IFA show, and Tineco announced an upgrade to its popular Pure ONE stick vacuum model with the Pure ONE Station to put its stamp on this category. Boasting a 200% better battery life, an even smarter sensor for detecting debris, and a head built for fewer hair tangles, the Pure ONE Station addresses many of the pain points with vacuuming head-on with its design.
Plus, it’s self-cleaning! This Pure ONE auto-empties itself and has a three-liter capacity so you can go about three months on average without dealing with the dust bin’s disposal.

5. Dreame L40 Ultra
Yep, it’s you guessed it — it’s another robot vacuum, but the Dreame L40 Ultra is perhaps the most premium of the bunch. With its five suction levels and four-level mopping plan, it can effortlessly lift dust, dirt, pet food, food scraps, yucky spills, pesky stains — you name it!
Like other models, it also offers a hand-free self-cleaning function. What makes it different, though? Its “MopExtend” and “RoboSwing” capabilities, which allow it to tackle tough-to-reach nooks and crannies, like the gap at the bottom of appliances, along wall edges, and even around curved furniture legs and low-to-the-ground pieces like ottomans and stools.
Buy: Dreame L40 Ultra, $1,499.99
6. Yaber K3 Projector
Projectors are amazing small-space solutions, and Yaber’s latest has all the bells and whistles you could want in a compact model for under $500. It features 1080 pixels for clear, crisp resolution; built-in dual JBL speakers with Dolby audio; and an intelligent screen alignment feature to make sure you’re getting the best picture possible at all times. Get ready for your own luxe home theater experience — and on a modest budget at that, especially compared to the price of other projectors.
Buy: Yaber K3 Projector, $499.99
7. Laifen Titanium Wave Electric Toothbrush
This dual-action design manages to deliver 66,000 sonic vibrations per minute with a wide-range 60-degree oscillation, so you get the best of both worlds when it comes to brushing methods. All that’s to say — this model packs major cleaning power and promises up to six times the plaque removal of traditional electric toothbrushes. It’s also the world’s first toothbrush made out of Titanium, meaning it’s truly built to last for years to come — even with the constant contact it has with water and toothpaste.
8. Eufy Indoor Floor Lamp E10
If you’re looking for a statement lamp, allow me to introduce you to Eufy’s Indoor Floor Lamp E10. Not only will you love the modern, minimal design, but you’ll also enjoy all of its fun features: voice control operation, cool and warm LED light temperatures, and a music mode, which syncs the lamp’s glow to the beat of your favorite tunes. You can also create personalized light settings for different activities, from watching TV to studying or working and beyond.
9. ECOVACS’ DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI
As the first-ever constant-pressure water renewal robotic floor washer, ECOVACS’ DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI packs plenty of power and performance into its relatively compact housing. The roller-based cleaning structure allows for increased pressure when degunking your floors, making easy work of caked-on stains. It also touts new technology that should make it detect corners and obstacles better, meaning less time spent detangling hair balls and rerouting the robot when it hits a wall edge.
10. Ninja Luxe Café Premier
You’ll literally have coffee shop-quality java at your fingertips in mere minutes with Ninja Luxe Café Premier, a three-in-one appliance that allows you to make regular drip coffee, espresso, and cold brew in a relatively compact countertop footprint. You can also perfect your latte-making methods, too, thanks to four different froth presets. Consider this the ultimate gift for the coffee-lover in your life; even though it’s a splurge, it’s said to be easy to use and seems worth the spend for all of the functionality you get.
