I can’t survive summer without access to a body of water. I grew up at the Jersey Shore, where I spent the long, hot days plunging under crashing waves, loading up on snack-stand cheese fries, and plopping down onto beach towels for hours on end.

Quick Overview

What’s to Love About Brooklinen’s Beach Towels?

Brooklinen’s line of beach towels is as luxurious as beach towels get. They are made of a super-soft, absorbent material, are long enough to cover people of different heights, and feature fun, eye-catching designs that you don’t often see on your average beach towel. Plus, they’re down 20% during Brooklinen’s Labor Day sale.

Now, as an adult, I still head home for a few precious beach days a year, but spend most of June, July, and August perched next to my apartment building’s pool — a godsend in the New York metropolitan area.

As you might imagine, having a pool attracts quite a few friends in the stifling heat of the summer months, and my attention to detail doesn’t stop once we’ve exited my apartment. I’m just as inclined to offer a high-quality beach towel to guests as I am bath towels and bed linens, so I’m always reaching for Brooklinen’s beach towels to provide the most luxurious experience possible.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the brand, but their beach towels are a luxury in their own right. They’re fluffy, enveloping, and just the thing you’ll want to sprawl out on — especially as we head into a long holiday weekend.

What’s So Great About Brooklinen’s Beach Towels?

High Pile Underside & Soft, Velvety Top

The best part about these towels, hands-down, is how soft they are. Beach towels in general withstand a great deal of abuse, getting soaked with chlorine and saltwater on the daily, only to be tossed into a high-heat wash and dry cycle afterward. But despite multiple summers of swimming and sunbathing, my towels look as new as ever, without any fraying, fading, or ripping.

The underside is a thick, 100% cotton terry weave that’s super-absorbent and dries quickly in the warm sun, while the top is a super-soft velour that’s cozy enough to lounge on all day long. The cotton fibers make this towel breathable, too, unlike ones woven from synthetic fibers like polyester, so they don’t make me any sweatier than usual on a hot summer day.

Just-Right Proportions

My beach bag changes from year to year, but the requirements remain the same: It needs to fit a towel, book, sunscreen, and water bottle. Some beach towels are thin and wimpy, while others are so oversized that they become cumbersome — but Brooklinen’s beach towels are just right. These Goldilocks towels are 34″x70” and roll up and fit into my beach bag (this year it’s a top-handled straw bag) with ease, and leave plenty of room for my other poolside necessities.

That said, this towel also fits perfectly on a lounge or beach chair, adding a layer of absorption between myself and the seat. Plus, as someone who’s on the tall side (5’7”), I can happily lay it down on the sand without getting my extremities coated in sand.

Colorful, Peppy Patterns

I’ll admit that half the draw of a beach towel is how pretty the pattern is, and there’s no issue with that here. I have the waverunner and sunset colorways, which are just as bright and cheery as when I first used them. I’ve got my eye on some of their other patterns, too, like the mid-century colors of cabana and the adorable graphics on the NYC summer towel.

So if you’re looking for a beach towel that is both functional and easy on the eyes, Brooklinen’s beach towels are a score. What’s more, they’re all currently discounted during the brand’s Labor Day sale for 20% off — you bet I’m grabbing another before summer’s end.
