In 2025, it’s out with the gray and minimal and in with cozy textures, warm hues, and intentional clutter. Think: lots of layering, mixed fabrics, and unique color combos. As a side effect of these themes, tapestries are also trending as a chic way to incorporate these cozy vibes into wall art.

“We are seeing the tapestry trend because we’re craving warmth and texture in our homes now that we’ve gotten over the stark minimalism trend we saw a few years back,” says Bethany Struble, a lead designer at Totum Home.

While you can go the more expensive route and find handwoven or vintage tapestries for your space, these tend to come with an understandably expensive price tag. But there are more budget-friendly ways to get the look — and from an unexpected place, too.

How to Make Your Own Tapestry on a Budget

FedEx custom fabric banners are one of the best budget-friendly ways to try the tapestry trend. These start at $80 and come in sizes 3×5, 6×3, 3×8, and 4×10 feet, all printed on a durable material that’s easy to clean. While they’re technically meant for advertising and marketing materials, the banners double as affordable, large-scale tapestries that you can hang in your home using downloadable prints from Etsy (or any other digital art platform).

The Etsy marketplace is full of gorgeous art designs to download digitally and print out, usually sold for just a few dollars. But instead of printing on paper, you can get these fun and quirky downloads printed on the FedEx fabric banners for a more personalized decor focal point.

How to Decorate With Tapestries

Once you have your tapestry printed, there are so many ways to incorporate it into your decor. From framing to sizing, here’s how to decorate with tapestries.

Add It to Your Gallery Wall

If you already have a gallery wall in your space but can fit a few new pieces, Struble recommends adding a small tapestry into the mix. “Using a smaller tapestry in a gallery wall adds a unique texture to your space,” she explains. This can also help soften things up a bit since gallery walls are usually filled with a lot of glass and wood textures.

Frame It

Tapestries are fairly easy to incorporate into your space since they only require a few thumbtacks or nails to secure to the wall. For a more high-end-looking alternative, though, Struble says to “opt for a rail or frame to hang your tapestry” to add more structure and sophistication to the overall decor aesthetic. If you don’t see a tapestry frame that you love, you can also go with a beautiful brass rail and matching curtain clip rings.

Don’t Be Afraid to Size Up

Before printing your tapestry, take measurements to ensure it will fit in your space. And if you can go a bit bigger, Struble recommends sizing up to make more of a statement and reduce visual clutter. “I love a tapestry that takes up a whole hallway or a wall in the living room,” she notes. One sizable tapestry is also a fabulous gallery wall alternative or even faux headboard.

The Best Etsy Art Prints for Tapestries

The best thing about shopping for art downloads on Etsy is there are so many different options to choose from and print via FedEx’s custom banner. Whether you want a more traditional tapestry print or you like the idea of a framed banner in your space, you can have fun with all of the different styles available.
