Nostalgic Striped and Floral Wallpaper Is Officially In and This New Collab Has It All
Nostalgia from the ’90s is at the heart of a new collection from Chasing Paper and Susan Korn, the designer behind the NYC-based accessories brand Susan Alexandra. On July 30 the wallpaper brand released four new prints inspired by Korn’s childhood in the ’90s and early 2000s. Korn is known for her beaded bags and accessories. Her love of bold colors and nostalgia comes through in funky, childlike stripes, and vintage-style florals inspired by her childhood bedroom.
The Chasing Paper X Susan Alexandra Wallpaper Collection Is So Nostalgic
“I sincerely believe that wallpaper can change your life,” Korn said in a press release. “The floral motif on the wallpaper from my childhood bedroom completely imprinted on my aesthetic, so when it came time to create designs for this new collection with Chasing Paper, I knew that I wanted to pay homage to my younger self and her dreams.”
She continued, “Chasing Paper helped me bring this deeply personal collection to life, celebrating the joys of childhood as well as aspirations for the future. I hope these quirky prints inspire others to explore wallpaper, take risks, and honor their inner child through design.”
The collaboration features four prints, and some of them have multiple colorways, including the Candy Stripe print, which comes in both bold rainbow and pastel colors. Candy buttons inspired this design, and they’re hand-drawn to give them an even more whimsical feel.
Southern France inspires the Summer Trellis print and features bundles of lavender, fresh herbs, and wildflowers. “This is for the life I manifest, a château in the south of France complete with a garden of lavender, herbs, and wildflowers,” Korn said. “Until that happens, we have this wallpaper, which is as close as you can be to Provence, no matter where you are!”
Another floral design is the Childhood Floral, which is directly inspired by Korn’s childhood bedroom. It’s available in both a bold and pastel colorway, giving any space a mod feel thanks to its painterly style blossoms reminiscent of the 1970s.
Finally, the Felicity Stripe is for the American Girl Doll lovers. It’s part ruffles, part florals, part stripes, and would fit just as perfectly in a colonial-style home as it would in a modern cottage. It’s inspired by the dress Felicity wore. Korn says this outfit was the “first love of [her] life.”
You can pick up any of these wallpaper prints in traditional, peel-and-stick, grass cloth, or matte performance vinyl.
