Our favorite home renovating power couple continues to expand their empire, and to the delight of their fandom, Chip and Joanna Gaines’ latest venture will take place on screen. The former “Fixer Upper” duo announced the launch of Magnolia Network, and the now they’ve added their first show to the official lineup.

The original docuseries named “Home on the Road” will follow the Gaines’ friends and married singer-songwriters Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano Ramirez as the musical pair navigates family life and touring North America with their band Johnnyswim.  The show will also explore local culture of the various cities the band visits.

The series will make its debut during Magnolia’s official October 2020 launch, but a first-look trailer offers a glimpse into what viewers can expect.

“Amanda and Abner are magnetic,” Chip and Joanna said in a statement. “Ever since we met them a little over five years ago, we’ve been drawn to the way they navigate family, community and life on the road. They’re not just musicians, they’re storytellers, and together, they are a true picture of the relentless pursuit of following a dream and making it a reality. But their dream doesn’t stop with them—it’s extended to their family and fans and everyone they meet.”

As for Abner and Amanda, they admit that there are challenges that come with sharing family time on the road (with two small children, no less), but they’ve grown comfortable with taking home wherever they go.

“When you’re on the road as much as we are, time spent at home starts to feel a lot like vacation,” the Ramirezes said in a statement. “We decided early on that we want to spend as much time together as possible…so when we go on tour, we all go on tour. We’d be lying if we said the idea of traveling the country with your bandmates, a four-year-old and a 12-month-old wasn’t a little bit scary, but it’s all we know. No matter what, we’re going to make home on the road.”

Magnolia will take the reins from the DIY Network, offering a lineup of “unique, inspiring and family-friendly” programming, which will include previously aired “Fixer Upper” episodes.

This behind-the-scenes venture is one of several projects in the works for the HGTV alums. Recently, Chip and Joanna revealed plans to open a boutique hotel in downtown Waco in 2021.
