17 Comfortable Office Chairs That Are Perfect for Your Work-from-Home Setup

This trendy acrylic chair would be great for a dorm room or small apartment, thanks to its compact, clear, gold-accented seat and adjustable-height lever. Just add a sheepskin throw, and you've got a comfy, discreet spot to get some work done.

With its leather upholstery and chic chrome base, the handsome Colombo chair will class up your home office with its vintage, mid-century modern-inspired look. It’s on casters, which means it's super convenient for moving around, and it comes in a nice range of leather options.

For those who like customizations, the Doro C300 Pro lets you adjust every inch of your work chair for ultimate comfort, like the seat depth, armrests, lumbar support, and more. It's currently on sale, too!

Who says an ergonomic chair has to be boring? The Desky Sereno comes in shades like mustard yellow, red velvet, and white with peach, making it an easy way to bring personality to your workspace. Adjustable lumbar support and multidirectional armrests let you tailor the fit, while an optional headrest adds another spot to rest when you lean back between meetings.

One AT editor raved about Article’s Rya office chair. “Since I got it months ago, its luxe design has elevated my home, and, even better, it’s as cozy as any armchair and as ideal for long-term sitting as any standard office chair,” she wrote in her review. And I totally see the appeal — its cushiony, wide seat and plush bouclé upholstery look so comfy.

Ergonomic chairs aren't typically associated with "style," but the Verve chair changes that. It’s way sleeker than traditional ergonomic office chairs and it comes in seven colorways that give it a more contemporary look. You’re also still getting the comfort you want, thanks to its adjustable lumbar support and contoured seat and back.

The Nelson chair might be one of the most attractive swivel office chairs I’ve come across, with its plush upholstered seat (available in a whopping 48 fabrics!) and flared arms. It’s set on a five-spoke swivel base that comes in burnished bronze, champagne bronze, or antique bronze finishes. If you want a swivel chair that you can truly make your own, this is it!

If you’ve been wishing for an office chair that feels as comfortable as lying in bed, the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support Office Chair is for you. TEMPUR-PEDIC is known for making comfy mattresses, mattress toppers, and pillows, so it’s no surprise that their office chair is also a back-saver. From first glance, you likely wouldn’t expect the chair to be all that supportive — it has a thick seat and thin mesh back. In reality, it’s expertly designed to support the spine and hips, making for a luxe sitting sitch.

The Branch Ergonomic Office Chair may not look super fancy but the padded mesh design is beloved by thousands of shoppers — and our very own deputy commerce editor Alicia. The reason? It’s ergonomically designed, making it an incredibly comfortable pick for hours on end (it was designed to be sat in for a full eight-hour day!) The seat, which is made out of high-density foam, is on the firmer side and provides a lot of support to the hips. The chair also provides eight points of adjustment, so you can customize it to your fit preferences. And while the chair is supportive on its own, there’s also the option to add a headrest with neck support, which makes it even more comfortable

Leave it to Wayfair to have an office chair option that's as cute and cheap as the Rubin Mesh Office Chair. This guy would be a great addition in a kid's room or playroom. And if purple isn't your color, the Avri is also available in mustard orange and green.

Who knew a comfortable office chair could be so luxe? This gorgeous office chair from Wayfair has an MCM look, with faux leather and a silver frame. It’s perfectly cushioned, and it has a headrest and built-in lumbar support to keep you comfortable all day long.

This Wayfair office chair is as retro as it gets. It looks like the iconic mid-century modern Cesca chair with a rattan backrest, but with a more desk-friendly design. The leather seat is cushioned, the armrests have wood accents, and it has a sleek metal base with casters that can glide across the floor.

Finding an office chair that both prioritizes comfort and style isn’t easy, but Branch successfully made it happen with its Softside office chair. It has a stunning design that won’t ruin your home office aesthetic, paired with cloud-like cushioning and just the right amount of support. It’s available in fabric, velvet, bouclé, and vegan leather, along with mid-back or high-back options.
