This $20 Amazon Find Instantly Creates Extra Storage Space Under My Sink
Last November, my family and I moved into a new house. It’s an upgrade in pretty much every way — we’ve got more square footage, an extra bedroom, and a quieter street — but I’m still learning my way around my new kitchen. This one has more cabinets, but they’re shallower and shorter. And while my old kitchen had a convenient pull-out cabinet beneath the sink, where I kept all my cleaning products, this one doesn’t.
At first, I figured I’d just store my everyday items beneath the kitchen sink and keep my specialty cleaners elsewhere — in an upstairs bathroom closet, in a drawer in the mudroom, or in the laundry area downstairs — but I kept forgetting where everything was. And that made cleaning feel annoying.
My latest solution involves two of these Command caddy organizers, which you can adhere to any surface to instantly add storage space. I ended up sticking mine in two places: inside the left cabinet door and on the right cabinet wall.
I Tried the Command Cabinet Caddies and Here’s How It Went
Right off the bat, I’m a big fan of this solution. First of all, they’re so easy to use. You just stick two Command strips on each side and put them where you could use more organizing space.
Each caddy also holds 10 pounds, which is more than enough for my most-used cleaning products — an all-purpose cleaner, a scented dish soap I use a lot, a bottle of white vinegar, and a wood floor cleaner.
Finally, I found the caddies were *just* wide and deep enough to be useful without impeding my ability to fully close the cabinet door or store other tall cleaners beneath the sink.
While I’m still adjusting to my new space and am dreaming up a future remodel with better cabinets, I’m thankful to have found a product that makes it easier to function in the kitchen.
Next, I think I’ll grab one for an upstairs closet where I keep my bathroom cleaners!
