Costco Is Selling a 4-in-1 Rolling Cooler That’s Perfect for Any Outdoor Space

A big outdoor cooler is a summer entertaining essential. It makes it near-effortless to supply you and your guests with a steady stream of hydration during peak patio-season heat. If you’re in the market for a cooler with some extra bells and whistles, Costco just started selling a popular portable cooler-bar combo for $60 less than its competitors — and this outdoor gem can hold 185 cans in its compact, sleek design.

On sale for $259.99 on Costco’s website (including shipping and handling), the Permasteel 120-Quart Galvanized Steel Rolling Cooler with Cover is basically like the Cadillac of coolers. 

With a relatively narrow 20.4-inch width, 35.4-inch height, and 35.7-inch length, this portable cooler easily sits flush against a wall or railing without taking up too much space in your outdoor setup — a big bonus for city-dwellers with small balconies or patios. 

This Permasteel cooler pulls double duty as both an outdoor bar and a cooler in one super-sleek and durable design. The cooler portion, which comes with a removable lid, is made out of sturdy galvanized steel that’s weather-resistant and can keep drinks cold for up to 36 hours. Inside the 120-quart basin, you’ll find three dividers that’ll keep drinks separate, which makes it easy to locate your beverage of choice without digging around the cooler. 

Featuring a handy attached bottle opener on the side (with a little container underneath to collect loose caps), the cooler quickly transforms into an outdoor bar or table once you close the flip-top lid. There are four cup holders, as well as plenty of surface area for a special drinks station, a charcuterie board, or other snacks in the middle. There’s also a separate storage area underneath the cooler.

Despite weighing 50.7 pounds, the cooler is easy to transport, thanks to handles on either side and four caster wheels with two lockable ones to keep the cooler in place. Once you’re done using it, you can use the attached cover to protect it from the elements.

Costco customers are a big fan of the “outstanding cooler,” calling out its “sturdy” and “well-made” design as well as its easy assembly. One happy shopper also shared details about how well the Permasteel kept drinks cool, saying that “Although this cooler is not sealed, and doesn’t have a seal for the lid, it still managed to hold ice for two days after our first use. And the third day, although the ice was gone, the drinks were still cold.”

Unfortunately, only Costco members are able to take advantage of this deal, but it looks like Wayfair is selling pretty much the exact same model (just with no cover included). 

It is about $60 more than Costco’s pricing (or basically the cost of an annual $65 Costco Gold Star membership, so it might be worth signing up for one if you’ve been mulling over getting in on the popular bulk chain’s viral expandable table, designer-dupe sectionals, cheap gas, and other cult-favorite finds).
