Costco’s spice section is an underrated treasure trove filled with 12.3-ounce canisters of turmeric, paprika, and other expensive spices at just a fraction of other stores’ prices. Now, Costco is upping the ante on its spice deals by bringing back a money-saving hack where you can get five years of free spice refills — if you buy a specific kitchen organizer.

In a video shared on Instagram by @costcothisweek, the creator revealed that Costco brought back its 20-jar spice rack deal from 2021 — and this year’s version looks even better than before. On sale right now for only $19.99 until November 21 on Costco’s website, the normally $29.99 Kamenstein product comes with 20 (yes, 20!) 3-ounce glass spice jars topped with stainless steel lids that are housed in a revolving two-level vertical canister, which helps you easily display and locate your spice of choice.

Unlike Costco’s 2021 version, which cost the same amount, this year’s spice canister has a superior design, thanks to the lazy Susan-style design of the holding container. Each glass container comes with a removable shaker disk and also has the name of the spice written on it in cute cursive, making it a compact and aesthetic addition to your kitchen counter. You can even use the middle tool caddy to house cooking utensils.

If you already have a spice-jar storage solution, but you’re enamored with the functionality of the lazy Susan, you could also remove all the spice jars from the rack and use the lazy Susan-style spice caddy to organize anything in your kitchen.

Even without taking inflation into consideration, it’s a steal to pay less than $1 for a jar of spices — and your purchase comes with free refills for five years, making this even more of a bargain. However, there are a few caveats to know before you buy one of these spice canisters.

Several people noted that shipping and handling on the free refills is not included, and one Instagram user noted that the replacement “adds up to be [way] more than the spice itself.” However, one person who bought the 2024 version noted that shipping and handling for one to four bags of spices is $5.25, five to 10 spices is $10,00, and 11 to 20 spices is $17.50, so you could potentially be paying just a few dollars extra to restock your dried herbs over the next five years.

Unfortunately, you do need a Costco membership to buy this spice set, but Amazon has a similar lazy Susan-style spice rack that’s currently on sale for $15.99. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t come with spices, but it does have the two-tier look and glass containers if you’re looking to display and organize your current collection or if you’re itching for spice storage.

Different models of Kamenstein spice racks (including free spice refills) are also available on Amazon’s website if you want to browse a different design than the one from Costco. Unfortunately, prices for these start at about $35, but for major flavor enthusiasts, it still might be worth paying about $1.75 per spice jar.
