This $3 Dollar Tree Hack Doubles Your Drawer Storage (It’s So Smart!)
As satisfying as it can be to give your jewelry collection a storage refresh, all the aesthetically pleasing organizing containers and hanging displays that you’ll need to reorganize your space can seriously cut into your bank account. Luckily, one TikToker is showing the budget-conscious side of #CleanTok how to hack your disorganized jewelry box using only products from the Dollar Tree — and the resulting baby pink and clear display is a cute (and affordable!) game-changer.
For less than $3, you can DIY your own ring drawer that’ll prominently display all your favorite pieces in one easy-to-access place. TikToker @sarah.and.kamal revealed that she’d discovered how to create her own superior jewelry case in just minutes using a $1.25 clear acrylic jewelry case and a $1.25 set of grandma pink foam hair curlers from the Dollar Tree.
No crafting skills or extra materials are needed for this easy transformation. She started with the Dollar Tree’s Essentials Clear Plastic Desktop Organizer Drawers, which measures 5 inches in length, 5 inches in width, and 1.75 inches in height. The compact design and pull-out drawer are already perfect for storing necklaces, rings, and stud earrings, but the TikToker had an ingenious solution for preventing everything from getting mixed up and hidden in the drawer.
She grabbed a pack of 10 Pink Foam Hair Rollers, took out the plastic pieces inside of them, and fit them in two rows of five inside of the clear organizer. Once they were in, she used them to display all her rings front and center.
While @sarah.and.kamal used this organization hack for her rings, it could also work for smaller earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or even “thread bobbins,” as one viewer mentioned in the comments. Several called the “excellent hack” a perfect solution for storing jewelry in their suitcases when traveling.
Some fans offered suggestions to improve upon the hack, with one saying that gluing the foam curlers to the acrylic drawer could prevent them from moving around when you switch out your rings. One person even came up with a use for the leftover plastic pieces in the foam hair rollers, suggesting that they “use the plastic parts to tie back curtains.”
Unfortunately, several commenters noted that they were having problems finding these two products in stock. If you don’t see them at your closest Dollar Tree, you can also find similarly inexpensive storage from Target’s Brightroom line, such as this $5 clear stackable organizer that you can use to build your own jewelry setup. You’ll have to find your own hair rollers.
While it’s slightly more expensive than the Dollar Tree version, the organizers are also larger, meaning you can also organize bigger pieces in them — a plus if you have an extensive jewelry collection.
