Gabrielle Union pulls off different style trends with ease. The actress has done the acrylic furniture trend, adding clear acrylic chairs to her dining area, and she’s showcased the stunning jungle-inspired mural wall that is in her daughter’s nursery room but could exist in any room of the house.

This week, Union took a stab at the ever-popular royalcore design trend that adds a touch of historic design to modern day home. And she’s far from being alone, as fellow celebrities Brie Larson, Christina Aguilera, and Jennifer Hudson have visually expressed their love for regal interior design.

“Typical morning routine” she captioned a video shared with her 19.6 million Instagram followers earlier this week.

In the clip, Union can be seen acting out her “typical morning routine,” which includes ironing (with an iron that may or may not be plugged in) and sitting on a throne while having her photo taken. The video is presumably part of a photoshoot campaign that Union is taking part in, but the decor and overall aesthetic of the shoot are giving major royalcore design inspiration.

The trending social media aesthetic that is favored among the TikTok crowd (the hashtag #royalcore currently has over 261 million views) embraces opulence, rich colors, and lavish fabrics that are often seen in regal settings and royal-themed shows like “Bridgerton” and “The Crown.”

In terms of patterns, bold florals reign (pun intended) when it comes to the royalcore aesthetic, often in jewel tones and warm colors. While Union’s regal look may not have floral upholstery that is often associated with royalcore, there are plenty of warm hues, gold accents, and rich fabrics to make up for it.

If you’d like to incorporate this trend into your own space, Martin Gill, managing director at luxury bed retailer And So To Bed, explained to Real Homes that fans should opt for “deep rich tones such as purples, blues, and reds” or “muted pastel tones such as pinks, whites, and light blues and greens,” adding in some metallic hues for good measure.
