Though performance is definitely the most important quality we consider when testing cookware products, we here at Apartment Therapy can acknowledge how important it is that they also look good. Visual appeal may not be a crucial factor for everyone when it comes to deciding what to splurge on, but a gorgeous piece can enhance the aesthetic of your whole kitchen. In fact, it may actually make you want to cook more. Who wouldn’t want to show off a statement-making pot or pan by putting it to use at every opportunity?

One of the brands we can rely on to deliver on both style and function in spades is direct-to-consumer cookware brand Great Jones. Though the women-owned retailer has only been around for a few years, GJ has cemented itself as a go-to for shoppers looking for high-quality pieces that have vibrant colors and sleek designs — like their royal blue colander and their matte pink Dutch oven, both of which we absolutely love. And starting today, GJ is offering yet another piece we can’t wait to get our hands on: a glossy version of their mini Dutch oven, which’ll add a fun, retro flair to your stovetop.

The limited-edition collection features orange, blue, and purple hues of the round Dutch Baby, all of which are especially suited for fall. But rather than the brand’s usual matte finish, the enameled cast iron has a shiny coating, making it even more eye-catching. The Glossies look vintage in the best way — without the risks of antique enamel that has a higher risk of containing toxic materials.

Safe to use on any kind of stovetop and in the oven up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, the 3.5-quart Dutch oven is sized to fit on one burner. It’s especially ideal if you’re cooking a side dish or feeding only one or two people at a time, or perhaps you have a smaller kitchen and want something that won’t take up quite so much space. And, if you already own GJ’s Dutchess — which we highly recommend — it’s designed to nest neatly inside of it, which’ll take up less room in your cabinet.

As a major bonus, GJ is partnering with the Museum of Food and Drink on the launch. They’re donating a percentage of the sales of the glossy Dutch Babies to help protect the legacy of the Ebony Magazine Test Kitchen, which will soon have a permanent home in the Smithsonian, as well as to help extend their African/American exhibition. All of that at an affordable $120 price point? Sign us up. However, the collection won’t be available forever, so don’t wait to pick one up for yourself!
