HGTV Star Breegan Jane Has a Canopy Bed Frame with a Modern Twist

HGTV star Breegan Jane often posts about her sleek and sophisticated home on social media, as well as those properties that have been given a makeover as part of her work. One glimpse at her Instagram feed and it’s pretty obvious that Jane is fond of neutral exteriors and interiors, with a sea of whites and creams adorning her account.
Proving that there’s nothing wrong with keeping the color palette neutral, the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and “The House My Wedding Bought” host lets her furniture do the talking with dramatic shapes and designs that really pack a punch. In a recent snap shared with her 138,000 followers, her canopy bed takes center stage.
Sitting on her bed and reading to her children — with the caption promoting her first childrens’ book “Carbie” and a second one coming soon — the clear acrylic canopy frame makes a bold statement, contrasting against the black velvet headboard, while the white sheets complete the monochrome look.
For years, canopy beds were seen as a truly decadent addition to the bedroom, dating back to as early as 4th century China before becoming a prominent part of medieval interiors in Europe. Noble families slept in the great hall of their castle, and most of their servants slept in the hall with them. Canopy curtains went up to create a handy sense of privacy, creating a “cozy room within a room” in addition to excluding any harsh drafts.
While Jane’s bed frame doesn’t show any curtains, the poles are held up by gold corners, while the gold base ups the luxury scale. The whole bed has a regal feel that’s sure to make Jane feel like royalty with every hour of shut-eye.
So, if you’ve been considering adding a canopy frame to your bedroom, consider this your inspiration.
