If you’ve ever been shopping around for a new bed frame, then you know all too well that they’re expensive. While you could buy a stunning boho-inspired bed frame for upwards of $1,300 at some of the most popular stores out there, one Instagram user just figured out how to get that must-have boho look for a lot less using part of an IKEA cabinet.

Shared by the IKEA Hacks & Ideas Instagram account, DIY enthusiast Maria Eugenia posted a video earlier this month on June 12 showing how she created a luxury-inspired headboard using the doors from IKEA’s IVAR cabinet system.

And this DIY project couldn’t be easier. Maria grabbed two of the woven IVAR doors from IKEA, gave them a light stain, and then attached them lengthwise to each other using three metal brackets and a few screws. She then attached it to the wall using eye hooks, but you could mount it in a number of different ways (renter-friendly hooks could work, too).

IVAR doors at IKEA are actually sold in pairs here in the U.S., so you can replicate this DIY for less than $80. And there are endless ways to customize the finished product. Brush on a coat of your favorite paint, use stencils to create a graphic or floral border, or place twinkle lights behind the mesh screen to add a bit of sparkle and ambiance to your bedroom.

This IKEA hack is also great because you don’t have to ditch your perfectly good bed frame to change the look of your space — actually, you don’t even need a bed frame at all! Save your money and DIY your own boho headboard instead.

You’ll get that expensive look you’ve been craving for under $100.
