IKEA Just Brought Back This Hard-to-Find ’90s Favorite (the Original Is 5x the Price!)
Collectors and admirers of vintage IKEA items have been in for a treat these past few years, thanks to the Nytillverkad collection, which is full of rereleases of classic IKEA furniture and decor pieces. The latest item to join it is a set of vintage-inspired glass vases that first made their debut back in 1995 — and if you try to find the originals, good luck! They’re almost impossible to source, which makes the rerelease that much more exciting.
The vases made their original debut in 1995 under the name SNURRA, and now, the new, bright, and shiny KÄLLARHALS vases are back — and dare I say, better than before? The new version has two designs available, both for under $20, both based on original designs from IKEA designer Anna Efverlund.
The first KÄLLARHALS vase is a bit thinner and taller than its partner, standing at just over 10 inches. It’s made of glass and tinted with an orange lacquer.
The other KÄLLARHALS vase is shorter at just over 8 inches and comes in a punchy yellow that will definitely make any space feel a bit more sunny.
As noted on the IKEA listings, the thinner vase will keep your flowers together in a bunch whereas the shorter vase will spread your cuttings out. Though they work great together, each vase will give a floral arrangement a unique look.
The original SNURRA vases also came in bright colors, like this deep bottle blue vase, which retails for around $105 secondhand (mind you, this is the only original SNURRA I could find!). The yellow and orange lacquers pay homage to the OG vases while also feeling fresh and new.
The KÄLLARHALS vases just hit the Nytillverkad collection, so you can grab them while there are plenty in stock. There’s nothing dated about these vintage vases — your spring bouquets will look glorious for years and years to come!
