IKEA Quietly Dropped the Cutest $20 Halloween Lamp, and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Viral Yet

I had a day off recently with no plans, so I spent it as any shopping writer would: at my neighborhood IKEA. I promise you — peacefully wandering around the Swedish retailer’s showroom is fun for me and doesn’t feel like work at all. And hey, if I happen upon any interesting new finds that I end up writing about for work, that’s just a bonus! Well, reader, that’s exactly what happened when I laid eyes on this adorable Halloween gem: the new KUSTFYR LED Table Lamp. 

If you think it’s too early to start decorating for Halloween, I have one word for you: “Summerween.” There’s no better time to get in on the spooky vibes, and the KUSTFYR lamp makes it so easy at only $20. I have a sneaking suspicion that this one’s going to sell fast. Here’s why I’d snatch one up before that happens. 

The KUSTFYR is a corded, 7-inch-wide table lamp with an adorable jack-o’-lantern design and an orange-tinted shade. If you ask me, it looks like a smaller version of IKEA’s best-selling (editor-loved) FADO table lamp, except the KUSTFYR is completely plastic — which makes it more kid-friendly and easier to store in the off-season. 

It includes a 200-lumen LED bulb that emits a super-soft, ambient glow (the ideal lighting situation for scary-movie marathons, IMO). And the bulb is replaceable, so you can swap it out when it eventually burns out. It’s a small and simple pleasure that adds a bit of cutesy Halloween energy to an entryway, side table, or dresser. 

I mean, just look at it! The KUSTFYR lamp’s toothy, jack-o’-lantern grin is enough to put a smile on my face every day of the week. And this may sound obvious, but it’s way more practical than a real-life jack-o’-lantern, too, what with it not being a real pumpkin and all (no mold, no mess!). That’s especially handy if you’ve got pets running around.

While it’s probably not bright enough to replace a room’s main light source, it’s subtle enough to layer with other lights in a space, or create a spooky glow wherever you want it. Imagine how cute it would look peeking out of a window. You can’t be mad at the $20 price tag, and unlike some inexpensive Halloween accents that won’t survive beyond spooky season, this lamp is designed to come back year after year! It’s easily something I could see myself whipping out every Halloween season.
