IKEA’s New Collection of Foldable Furniture Makes It So Easy To Move
With IKEA’s annual Democratic Design Days happening in Sweden last week, information on all the new collections and collaborations are rolling out quicker than this robot can assemble an IKEA chair. The Scandinavian retailer has good news for folks who are constantly on the move: RÅVAROR, a new line of items that briskly transforms small spaces into smart spaces, and packs up just as easily.
Inspired by the growth of the urban population and the steadily decreasing size of metropolitan living spaces, RÅVAROR aims to address these issues as well as alleviate some of the stress that comes with having to relocate.
Of the forthcoming collection, IKEA of Sweden’s Creative leader Viveca Olsson said, “There is a rapidly growing urban population and people are living in smaller spaces as well as moving more often than before. With RÅVAROR we wanted to create a few key items that have a new level of versatility, functionality and simplicity. And when it is time to move, it should be easy to pack everything up, stack them together and relocate to your next home.”
So, what can we can expect from RÅVAROR? The collection will feature 20 products, including daybeds, lighting options, a mini kitchen, open storage solutions on casters, sofas, storage boxes, tables and textiles. Each item is designed in a way that prioritizes the best use of space and the ability to be easily moved.
RÅVAROR joins ROGNAN, an automated furniture system, as the most recent of IKEA’s collections that are designed to maximize the use of small spaces. Both collections are set to debut in 2020.
