IKEA’s New Lamp Is Going Viral Thanks to Its Never-Before-Seen Shape (Just $25!)

The days are getting longer, but the winter nights are still dark and cold. Luckily there’s a new lamp from IKEA that makes doing any nighttime hobbies (painting, sculpting, building, puzzling, etc.) so much less taxing on your eyes. And the best part? It’s a total vibe. Because of its revolutionary shape and design, the $25 IKEA SMÅSNÖRE is going to blow all of your other task lamps out the window.

“I’m sitting at my desk, and I want to tell you about an IKEA product that I got recently because it’s been helping me. Maybe it will help you too,” Instagram user Laura Carwadine said in a recent video. “It’s this light that’s floppy, and it has these two weighted bases, and when you put it on a surface … it’s just a super-even task light that has this arc of light that goes all the way around.”

Laura explains that the light has two brightness settings, as well as “chaos modes” where the LED light fades between various colors.

“But it makes such a big difference, I find, especially in the winter at night,” she continued. “It’s hard to work on detailed things because I don’t have enough light to fully see what I’m doing.”

The light can also be flipped so that the lit side faces out, or it can be attached to the wall using the keyhole cutouts at the bottom of the weighted base. You could also use it as an artsy lighting fixture when it’s not being used as a hobby lamp.
