Modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dark wood cabinets, marble backsplash, and a stylish sink area.

My city kitchen is limited in its number of drawers, and one of them is dedicated to flatware and the other to cooking utensils. The only place that makes sense for disposable food storage is under the sink, right alongside the extra hand soap, dish detergent, white vinegar, and sponges. But under the sink is never the most intuitively organized spot. Over the years and from one kitchen to the next, I’ve tried solutions like corralling items in baskets or putting in shelves to help stagger items in the deep cabinet. Yet there’s always the feeling that I’m sacrificing accessibility in the name of trying to find some semblance of organization.

As I took everything out and prepared to put it back together again, I noticed a completely underused surface: the back of the cabinet doors. And that’s when I found the this three-pack of hanging baskets on Amazon that ended up being the simplest fix to a storage problem I’d been trying to solve for years.

What Is the Jobey Oligey 3 Set of Hanging Baskets?

This set of three sturdy steel wire baskets are designed to be mounted on walls or cabinet doors. They’re coated to resist rust and corrosion and can hold up to 40 pounds when installed with screws (or about 10 pounds when mounted with adhesive strips). The set comes with installation hardware as well as adhesive mounting options, making it flexible for renters or anyone who prefers a no-drill solution.

Each basket is shallow but roomy enough to hold everyday household items. While they’re marketed for use all over the home, I found they were exactly what my under-the-sink cabinet needed.

Why I Love These Hanging Baskets

While you can drill the baskets into the cabinet doors, I went the no-drill route and mounted mine with adhesive hooks. The entire project took less than five minutes — and a year and a half later, they’re still securely in place. Now I have a dedicated spot for all the under-the-sink stragglers: plastic bags, parchment paper, and aluminum foil. They’re upright, visible, and within easy reach. Nothing gets buried beneath cleaning supplies, and the boxes don’t end up crushed at the bottom of the cabinet.

It’s such a small tweak, but it doesn’t interfere with any of the storage I was already using. Instead, it adds function to a surface that would otherwise sit empty. And because everything is right there when I open the door, I can instantly see when I’m running low.

Throughout my kitchen, I’ve tried to use the back of cabinet doors wherever possible: A hook here to hold an oven mitt, a hook there to hold a kitchen towel — it’s my hack to keep everything easy to access but out of the way. I’m not sure how it took me so long to realize I could do the same with all the single-use items under my kitchen sink, but now I’ll never go back.
